Beresfords Flooring Ltd (BFL) is a precast flooring and air bag fall protection company, offering a nationwide a service.  

We install all forms of precast concrete flooring, including Hollowcore, Solid Composite Slabs, Beam & Block, Omnia, Cobiax and all associated concrete products. We also provide high quality safety air bag fall protection, primarily to the flooring / construction industry and around delivery vehicles generally. Our main clients include BISON CONCRETE PRODUCTS, TARMAC TOPFLOOR AND HANSON BUILDING PRODUCTS.

In our forty years of existence, the company has evolved from one fixing gang working out of Belper in Derbyshire to having over 120 men and over 60 vans working nationwide. We have depots in Glasgow, Leeds, London and Ashbourne with additional gangs based in Liverpool and Crawley. These locations enable us to provide an efficient, reliable, cost effective nationwide service. We have the flexibility to adjust bag stock to suit the job specific requirements, allowing for the need for additional small bags, larger parapet bags for steel work or bags for around a delivery trailer. We have a large stock of bags in all regional bases and facilities to repair bags at our head quarters in Ashbourne.  

Our base has been purpose built for our needs and harnesses our innovative approach with environmentally challenging on site issues. All rainwater run off from the roofs of our head office buildings is channelled into an 8000 gallon storage tank. The water is filtered and recycled to wash our vans and bags. In servicing over 60 vans, we produce a significant amount of waste oil. This oil is pumped into bunded tanks and transferred to a waste oil burner. The burner uses the recycled oil to provide heat to the storage sheds and offices.  

Beresfords are renowned for continually striving to improve working practices and innovate where possible. This progressive culture harnessed with our significant site experience, has led to our recognising developments which will improve our operations (in 2000 we were one of the first companies to see the potential of the air bag passive fall arrest system) and developing many products to make flooring installation safer and more efficient.  

The “Beam Carriage” takes much of the manual handling out of beam and block flooring installation. The “Gizmo” was invented to stop our employees being exposed to the leading edge when barring up precast floor beams and the HELP (Harness Emergency Life Preserver) is a device to quickly / safely recover a worker who has fallen over the leading edge while wearing a lanyard and body harness. These are just a few of our innovations to help protect our workers.
