About the product
The Hole Cover is a thin, bright yellow, anti-slip, plastic board with legs built into its base, which provides a quick, slim-line, eye-catching, tool-free alternative to the traditional timber board cover.
During the installation of pre-cast concrete products, there is frequently a problem when working on newly installed pre-cast flooring units, which are supplied with pre-formed service holes.
This poses a significant hazard to site operatives and other trades people accessing the floor following completion of the pre-cast flooring installation and can carry risks such as broken, sprained, cut or bruised ankles and shins.
At present, it is common practice to place a board over the hole, which is not usually fixed in place and can easily be dislodged.
Providing secured boards is a relatively time consuming process – the board needs to be cut to size, before holes are drilled and the board is screw fixed using a power tool. Once fitted, the boards themselves can become a trip hazard due to the thickness of the timber.
The majority of boards used are either plywood or untreated planed timber. By nature, these surfaces are not easily recognised as a trip hazard and after a while, the board can cultivate algae on the surface, making it slippery underfoot.
