For this project, the Beresford’s team are heading to the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology. Main contractor Speller Metcalfe are delivering the new development on behalf of Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) with funding from the Department for Education. The building will open in the spring of 2025.
Disproportionate collapse projects within schools, colleges and universities is a big sector for us. For this college of technology, we were brought in to supply and install around 700m of metal deck edge trim and 2-tonne of reinforcement bar over 4000sq. meters of FP McCann hollowcore flooring, and the insitu concrete pours (circa 90 cubic meters) around the hollowcore flooring joints. We also put in all of the associated tie requirements to the supporting steel frame supplied by Morgan’s of Usk.
