Beresford’s Flooring supported me on a successful bid and subsequent construction of a major new university building.
We offered an alternative frame solution utilising a steel frame with precast hollowcore floors. Beresford’s worked with the supply chain to develop connection and progressive collapse details to ensure the stability of the frame whilst maintaining the thermal mass advantage of an exposed soffit.
Their bespoke solutions allowed us to achieve aesthetic, commercial and programme benefits by offering a flat soffit without down-stand beams, even in locations where trimming steel was required for structural floor openings. Their details also took advantage of the raised access floor strategy to negate the need for a structural concrete topping to the precast planks. This saved time and money by removing a significant wet trade from the project and so maintaining the advantages of an off-site approach to construction.
I found Beresford’s to be very professional and what set them apart was their understanding of what we were trying to achieve and the positive “can do” attitude they displayed as we developed the design together. I trust them to deliver what they promise.
They are a real “team player” and demonstrated this in the way they coordinated their works around the activities of the frame erector on site. They adapted their sequence to maintain the progress of others on site and the quality of the work was excellent.
I found their quote to be competitive and I would not hesitate to use them again especially as they are keen to get involved during the bidding stages of projects as well. Adrian is always enthusiastic and helpful with good advice freely given.
